Strategy and design direction for an online citizen satellite archaeology platform that won the 2016 TED Prize.

Launching in Peru in 2017, Globalxplorer (GX) seeks to protect and preserve the world’s cultural heritage through satellite imagery, crowdsourcing, 3D mapping, and machine learning. As part of the founding executive team and serving as GX's Director of Design & Development, I helped lead the launch of the platform and promote the citizen archaeology movement, which resulted in +88k participants from over 200 countries, from ages 5 to 95.

The aim is to create a brand that is both educational and adventurous, in the spirit of a 'modern-day Indiana Jones (if Indiana was gaming his search for lost treasure from the comfort of his arm chair). At the same time, we want the identity to feel much more global and diverse.

The tone of voice encourages a social approach to archaeology across the GXº community, with different ephemera for the wide variety of participant segments ranging from age 5-95.
