In science, acceptance or rejection of an idea depends upon establishing solid evidence that supports it. Experiments based on personal assumption, popular opinion or that remain untested, generally fail. This is also true for startups, which are themselves experiments. So, the more evidence you share in all your conversations, the more likely you'll be met with acceptance. The best pitches are overflowing with evidence. Not just your MVP, but evidence your idea serves a real need, your business model is based on real markets, you have a realistic financial plan, and you've recruited a team with real qualifications. The challenge? Getting all that evidence pulled together in mere weeks (and knowing what to focus on). It helps if you build out the elements of your pitch, based on evidence that is testable (and therefore can actually be tested in time). No founder wants to spend 8 weeks building a demo, only to figure out at the end that there's no good way to actually test its features–not only does it kill your MVP, it ruins evidence of your business model.
